Resin bonded surfacing uses a high-strength resin applied directly to a prepared base before dry aggregate is scattered over the surface and bonded into place. The result is a textured, slip-resistant finish commonly used on paths, patios, ramps and decorative areas.

Resin bound mixes aggregate and resin together before installation, producing a smooth, permeable surface. Resin bonded applies resin to the base first and scatters aggregate over the top, creating a rougher and more textured finish.

Can resin bonded be used for driveways?

Resin bonded systems can be used in some applications, but for most modern residential driveways we would normally recommend a resin bound system. Resin bound gives a smoother finish, better aggregate retention and is typically more suitable for regular vehicle traffic.

What aggregate size is used for resin bonded surfacing?
